Meetings are held at 5:15pm on Fridays two times a month.
Beta Reader
Applicants will be responsible for reading through writing submissions, providing a reader's perspective on the overall submission in a group setting, and may decide to observe editors in order to gain editing experience.
Writing Editor
Applicant will be responsible for leading a group of Beta Readers through the process of accepting and denying submissions. You will edit your group's accepted submissions until they are free of grammar inconsistencies, and fit Cave Writing's expected website format. Applicants should have a passion for literature, a deep understanding of the English language, and the ability to lead others.
Assistant Executive Editor
The chosen applicant will play a pivotal role supporting the executive editor and collaborating with our writing editors to assist in communication. If the executive editor is unavailable or leaves the magazine, the assistant executive editor will serve in their place. Applicants should have a passion for literature and enjoy dealing with bigger picture concepts.
Podcast Coordinator
As a podcast coordinator, you will have the opportunity to learn more about the recording and editing process. You will be expected to help coordinate podcast guests, learn how to edit and upload audio recordings, and work alongside a dedicated team.
Media Coordinator
The applicant will be responsible for running the Cave Writing Magazine's Instagram account and designing graphics for posts. These Instagram posts should encompass the themes and aesthetics of our magazine in a visually appealing manner. Experience with graphic design is encouraged, but not required.
Cover Designer
You will be responsible for reading through our accepted submissions each month and designing covers for them. These covers should encapsulate the themes of each chapter and fit the format of our website. Prior experience with Canva is strongly encouraged but not necessary.
Event Coordinator
The applicant will be responsible for envisioning events for Cave Writing and coordinating them through the university. The event coordinator will also be involved in budgeting for said events alongside the executive editor. This role is perfect for someone who is both creative and organized.
